Background
This gene encodes a member of the delta protein ligandfamily. This family functions as Notch ligands that arecharacterized by a DSL domain, EGF repeats, and a transmembranedomain. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessivespondylocostal dysostosis 1. Two transcript variants encodingdistinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided byRefSeq].
