|Calculated MW||65 KDa|
|Other Names||Syntaxin-binding protein 1, Protein unc-18 homolog 1, Unc18-1, Protein unc-18 homolog A, Unc-18A, Stxbp1|
|Target/Specificity||Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser241 conjugated to KLH.|
|Format||Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification via sequential chromatography on phospho- and dephosphopeptide affinity columns.|
|Antibody Specificity||Specific for the ~65k Munc18-1 protein phosphorylated at Ser241. Immunolabeling is blocked by the treatment of the lysate with lambda phosphatase (30 minutes, 800 units / 1 mg protein).|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||Phospho-Ser241 Munc18-1 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|

Munc-18 (mammalian homologue of Unc-18) is a protein that is thought to be involved in regulating exocytosis due, at least in part, to it ability to bind syntaxin (Ciufo et al., 2005). Munc18-1 is a neuron-specific member of the Sec1/Munc18 protein family that binds to syntaxin1A and is thought to stabilize the complex (Liu et al., 2004). The function of Munc18-1 is thought to be regulated by phosphorylation.
