Other Names | Nucleolar protein 58, Nucleolar protein 5, NOP58, NOL5, NOP5 |
Target/Specificity | The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP9202a was selected from the N-term region of human NOP5/NOP58. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay. |
Format | Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C. |
Precautions | This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | NOP58 (HGNC:29926) |
---|---|
Synonyms | NOL5, NOP5 |
Function | Required for 60S ribosomal subunit biogenesis. Core component of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) particles. Required for the biogenesis of box C/D snoRNAs such as U3, U8 and U14 snoRNAs. Part of the small subunit (SSU) processome, first precursor of the small eukaryotic ribosomal subunit. During the assembly of the SSU processome in the nucleolus, many ribosome biogenesis factors, an RNA chaperone and ribosomal proteins associate with the nascent pre-rRNA and work in concert to generate RNA folding, modifications, rearrangements and cleavage as well as targeted degradation of pre- ribosomal RNA by the RNA exosome (PubMed:34516797). |
Cellular Location | Nucleus, nucleolus. Nucleus, nucleoplasm. Note=Localizes to the nucleolus with a minor part present in the nucleoplasm. |
Tissue Location | Ubiquitous. |
