Target/Specificity This ATP8B3 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 56-84 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human ATP8B3.
Dilution WB~~1:1000
Format Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
PrecautionsATP8B3 Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name ATP8B3 (HGNC:13535)
Synonyms ATP1K, FOS37502_2
Function P4-ATPase flippase which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids from the outer to the inner leaflet of various membranes and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. Phospholipid translocation seems also to be implicated in vesicle formation and in uptake of lipid signaling molecules. May be responsible for the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phosphatidylserine (PS) in spermatozoa membranes. Involved in acrosome reactions and binding of spermatozoa to zona pellucida.
Cellular Location Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle, acrosome membrane {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q6UQ17}; Multi-pass membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Tissue Location Isoform 3 was only detected in testis.

Background

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases, and to the subfamily of aminophospholipid-transporting ATPases. The aminophospholipid translocases transport phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine from one side of a bilayer to another. This gene encodes the member 3 of the phospholipid-transporting ATPase 8B. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq].
