Application Note | Anti-KAT II antibody is useful for ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and Western Blot. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately ~49kDa corresponding to the appropriate cell lysate or extract. |
Physical State | Liquid (sterile filtered) |
Buffer | 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2 |
Immunogen | KAT II affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region near the N terminus of mouse KAT II. |
Stabilizer | 30% Glycerol |
Gene ID | 51166 |
---|---|
Purity | Anti-KAT II was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with human, rat, and mouse based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with KAT II from other sources has not been determined. |

Function | Transaminase with broad substrate specificity. Has transaminase activity towards aminoadipate, kynurenine, methionine and glutamate. Shows activity also towards tryptophan, aspartate and hydroxykynurenine. Accepts a variety of oxo-acids as amino-group acceptors, with a preference for 2-oxoglutarate, 2-oxocaproic acid, phenylpyruvate and alpha-oxo-gamma-methiol butyric acid. Can also use glyoxylate as amino-group acceptor (in vitro). |
