SAMM50 is a component of the sorting and assemblymachinery (SAM) complex of the outer mitochondrial membrane. TheSAM complex has a role in integrating beta-barrel proteins into theouter mitochondrial membrane (Humphries et al., 2005 [PubMed15644312]).
