Background

The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the fourthenzymatic step, the ubiquinone-mediated oxidation of dihydroorotateto orotate, in de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis. This protein is amitochondrial protein located on the outer surface of the innermitochondrial membrane.
