Other Names | WD repeat-containing protein 44, Rabphilin-11, WDR44 |
Target/Specificity | The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8818b was selected from the C-term region of human WDR44. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay. |
Format | Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C. |
Precautions | This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | WDR44 (HGNC:30512) |
---|---|
Synonyms | RPH11 |
Function | Downstream effector for Rab11 which regulates Rab11 intracellular membrane trafficking functions such as endocytic recycling, intracellular ciliogenesis and protein export (PubMed:31204173, PubMed:32344433). ATK1-mediated phosphorylation of WDR44 induces binding to Rab11 which activates endocytic recycling of transferrin receptor back to the plasma membrane (PubMed:31204173). When bound to Rab11, prevents the formation of the ciliogenic Rab11- Rabin8/RAB3IP-RAB11FIP3 complex, therefore inhibiting preciliary trafficking and ciliogenesis (PubMed:31204173). Participates in neo- synthesized protein export by connecting the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) with the endosomal tubule via direct interactions with the integral ER proteins VAPA or VAPB and the endosomal protein GRAFs (GRAF1/ARHGAP26 or GRAF2/ARHGAP10), which facilitates the transfer of proteins such as E-cadherin, MPP14 and CFTR into a Rab8-Rab10-Rab11-dependent export route (PubMed:32344433). |
Cellular Location | Cytoplasm, cytosol {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9R037}. Cytoplasm, perinuclear region {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9R037}. Endosome membrane. Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9R037}. Note=Colocalized with RAB11A, RAB8A, RAB10 and MICAL1 on endosomal tubules (PubMed:32344433). Colocalized with RAB11A along microtubules oriented toward lamellipodia {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9R037, ECO:0000269|PubMed:32344433} |
