Background
This gene encodes a protein with significant sequencesimilarity to the ligand binding domain of platelet-derived growthfactor receptor beta. Mutations in this gene, or deletion of achromosomal segment containing this gene, are associated withsporadic hepatocellular carcinomas, colorectal cancers, andnon-small cell lung cancers. This suggests this gene product mayfunction as a tumor suppressor.
