| Function | In the soluble state, catalyzes glutaredoxin-like thiol disulfide exchange reactions with reduced glutathione as electron donor (By similarity). Background
This gene encodes a member of the chloride intracellularchannel family of proteins. The gene is part of a large triplicatedregion found on chromosomes 1, 6, and 21. An alternatively splicedtranscript variant has been described, but its biological validityhas not been determined.
